About the role

We currently have one ST5+ posts available in Acute Medicine. From 7th October 2026 until the 6th April 2027. These posts provide the post-holder with a wide range of clinical experience in Acute Medicine to prepare you for future specialist training applications.

The post-holder will be expected to work across our Acute Medicine services within the inpatient and outpatient setting. They will participate in the acute general medicine resident on-call rota at minimum of IMT3 level. They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and will have close supervision and training from the Consultants across these services

Person specification

Essential

First medical degree
Appropriate professional postgraduate qualification e.g. MRCP, MRCS etc.
Sound basic clinical skills
Competent in management of emergencies
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience in delivery of teaching and education. Faculty on local or national courses
Full GMC Registration
At least 12 months working in the NHS
Audit experience
Professional attitude
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GP's, nurses and administrative staff.
Ability to establish good working relationships with members of the team
Ability to function effectively under pressure
Interest in learning, development, and service improvement.
Commitment to continuing personal development
