Salaried GP

The Salaried General Practitioner (GP) plays a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate and patient-centred primary care to the practice population. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will provide comprehensive medical services, managing both acute and long-term conditions while promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention. The role requires excellent clinical judgement, effective communication and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based care. The Salaried GP will contribute to the ongoing development of practice services, support quality improvement initiatives and help ensure the practice meets its contractual, regulatory and clinical governance responsibilities. The Salaried General Practitioner (GP) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, evidence-based and patient-centred medical care to the practice population. The role involves assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and long-term health conditions through face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations. The postholder will provide holistic clinical care, prescribe safely in accordance with national and local guidance, undertake home visits where clinically appropriate, and make timely referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals. The GP will manage clinical correspondence, pathology and diagnostic results, prescriptions, medical reports and other administrative duties, ensuring accurate clinical coding, comprehensive record keeping and effective use of clinical systems. They will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support integrated care, contribute to the management of long-term conditions, deliver preventative healthcare and health promotion. The Salaried GP will contribute positively to service development, support colleagues, promote equality, diversity and inclusion, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold the values of the practice by fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, learning and continuous improvement to deliver the highest standards of patient care.
