Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry - Adult Mental Health

This is a replacement post and has arisen because the previous has taken up a post in another service in the Trust. Scarborough is a town on the north-sea coast of Outer Yorkshire, England with a population of just over 67.000 people (2019 census). Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. This post covers the provision of medical leadership to the Outer area of the Scarborough Community Mental Health Team (SICT), in collaboration with the Teams Consultant Psychiatrist.The job is split into 2.0 sessions of supporting professional activities (SPA) and 8.0 sessions of direct clinical care (DCC). The Specialty Doctor will be expected to provide key medical leadership to Community Mental Health Team in Scarborough, in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist. The post holder is not expected to hold a care coordination role but may be expected work in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist at ensuring specific cohort of patients are stabilised on Clozapine and Lithium treatments (estimated caseload of 20-30 patients). The community team works under the principles of purposeful and productive care delivery involving collaborative work. The post holder, as a member of the leadership cell, is expected to provide medical leadership to the Outer section of the community team and enhance the quality-of-care interventions.
