We are seeking an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with at least two years' experience to join our dedicated medical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative clinician looking to support a high-quality ophthalmology service while bringing specialist skills and expertise to an established team. As a Practice Plus Group Consultant, you will work in a well-equipped, professional, and supportive environment, delivering outstanding clinical care across a range of ophthalmology procedures. Working alongside a friendly and compassionate multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure every patient receives the highest standard of treatment and care. Reporting to the Hospital Medical Director, you will undertake ophthalmology procedures for patients referred to our services, working in line with established protocols and clinical practices. The role will be primarily based at Emersons Green Hospital in Bristol, with occasional cross-site working at our Day Surgery Centre in Devizes, Wiltshire, when required.
As well as being able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within ophthalmology from your wide training and extensive experience, you will required to demonstrate a high level of skill in the operative and non-operative aspects on the management and assessment of the following areas: Slit-Lamp examination Gonioscopy Fundoscopy Tonometry Refraction You will also be required to demonstrate a high level of operative skill in the following areas: High Volume Phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia (essential) Eyelid surgery Laser treatment
