Evidence of achievement of competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including: • Good clinical care • Maintaining good medical practice • Good relationships and communication with patients • Good working relationships with colleagues • Good teaching and training • Professional behaviour and probity Delivery of good acute clinical
Clinical training and experience to manage, supervise and offer expert clinical opinion on patients presenting to the Emergency Department
Taking full independent responsibility for all patients in the ED
Advise and manage the efficient running of the ED including leadership for junior doctors / clinical practitioners within the department
Experience in FAST, aorta dimensions and central venous access
Experience of supervising doctors and practitioners with the ability to teach clinical and practical skills as required years
Evidence of appropriate teaching experience
Demonstrates ability to undertake robust audit within team structure
Full GMC registration and on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to provide evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT on successful application
Success in FRCEM examination or equivalent
ALS, ATLS/ETC, APLS or equivalent qualification
Certified RCEM level 1 in Emergency ultrasound
Is up to date and fit to practise safely

Desirable

Evidence of feedback or peer review on these skills
Experience of formally supervising medical students, F1, F2, ACCS and specialist trainees
Evidence of relevant research e.g. presentations, publications in peer reviewed journals
The ability to apply outcomes to clinical problems
Instructor status for one or more of the life support courses
