The obstetrics and gynaecology medical workforce is currentlycomprised of 11 consultants and 1 associate specialists who provideessential patient led services. Airedale General Hospital work jointly with other local NHS providersin the region, including Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS FoundationTrust and Bradford District Care Trust, to help ensure we can delivera patient led collaborative service and thereby promoting a culture ofsafety and improvement

Provide clinical expertise and responsibility to the service in terms of knowledge, clinicalactivity and guidance as needed Clinical and administrative responsibility for the proper functioning of the Obstetrics andGynaecology Department

Person specification

Essential

oFull GMC Registration
oMRCOG or equivalent
oTraining & experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT
oEntry onto the Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or within 6 months of CCT date at interview
Competent surgeon (ATSM/SITM etc in benign surgery/laparoscopic surgery or oncology)
Competent Obstetrician (ATSM/STIM in labour ward/pregnancy care)
Experience demonstrating potential ability to cope with the demands of a DGH based Consultant Post.
Evidence of thTraining in Colposcopy.e clinical skills required to fulfil the specialty
Full BSCCP accreditation
Evidence of general management training and skills appropriate for the post

Desirable

Experience in teaching
Participation in training & supervision of junior medical staff/medical students/staff from other disciplines
Peer reviewed Publications
Peer reviewed Books/Book chapters
Higher qualification, MSc, MD
Demonstrable experience of participation in regular clinical audit and the ability to effect change.
Demonstrable experience of working to the clinical governance agenda
Knowledge of organisational aspects of the NHS
