Consultant in General Surgery with Upper Gastrointestinal Interest

We are looking to recruit a Consultant Surgeon with an interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery to join our forward thinking Department.

The aim of this appointment is to expand the breadth and quality of the General Surgeon Service and the delivery of care across the trust due to increased demand. The postholder will be based in either Scunthorpe or Grimsby General Hospital but will be expected to deliver care across all Trust sites. This post will support the General Surgical Service including on-call commitments for General Surgery.

The successful post holder will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems and library services.

This post will be available from August 2024. This is a Consultant General Surgeon post, who has experience in general and laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy skills and an interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery . The unit provides elective and emergency general surgery, upper gastrointestinal, general and colorectal surgery, including cancer, and a JAG accredited endoscopy unit.
