About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our dynamic and progressive team. The post is a replacement full-time post for a Consultant in Urology to undertake core urology but with an opportunity to develop a specialist interest.
The Urology Service is delivered by 5 Substantive Consultant Urologists and 2 Locum Consultant Urologists delivering elective and emergency care. There are 3 nurse 10 practitioners, a newly appointed ward practitioner and 6 specific Uro-Oncology nurses.
The department have access to a da Vinci XI Surgical Robot through the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. The da Vinci XI Surgical Robot is installed at Northampton General Hospital as part of the long-term plan to increase robotic assisted surgery across wider range of specialties including Urology at both Northampton and Kettering hospitals.
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a multidisciplinary team to provide management of elective and emergency urological conditions including both benign and malignant conditions and to support the Urology emergency service.
