Locum Consultant Cardiologist Interest in Cardiac Electrophysiology

This is a locum appointment, intended to maximise utilization of the infrastructure. The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for adult patients with cardiac arrhythmias from King's, the local community, and referring hospitals. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff. The post-holder will be asked to participate in the EP on call rota and may be expected to undertake outreach clinics. The post-holder will be expected to part-take in the consultant-of-the-week in-patient ward cover.

The post will be based at both Denmark Hill. The proposed Job Plan is outlined in the Job Description. There will be an average of 8.5 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with the remainder being allocated for Supporting Professional and/or other Activities. There is no on-call commitment for general cardiology, but the post-holder will participate in an out of hours arrhythmia on-call service (currently 1 in 6). As a senior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.
