The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of 25 substantive consultants working between the 3 acute hospital sites with all on calls and emergency commitments at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH). The post will be countywide with clinical sessions at Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH) and at the two other acute sites - Kidderminster Treatment Centre (KTC) and the Alexandra
This appointment is for a full-time Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant with a specialist interest in fertility and ambulatory gynaecology. The successful candidate will work closely alongside other Obstetricians and Gynaecologists within the Trust with clinical sessions at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital Redditch and the Kidderminster Treatment Centre. They will be expected to undertake general clinics at all of the main sites and some of our Community Hospitals. Applicants should have the appropriate training and experience to fulfil the requirements of this post and they should be on the Specialist Register. Applicants will be expected to have evidence of advanced training and experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology including 2 ATSMs with specialist skills in ambulatory Gynaecology and infertility. Following Good Medical Practice, the post holder will be responsible for the clinical care of Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients. Prior experience at a consultant level would be beneficial but not essential. They will be expected to work independently in elective and emergency situations but can rely on the additional support of consultant colleagues within the Directorate. The successful applicant may be asked in the future to act as the lead in a special interest area and will be expected to support less experienced junior colleagues in the development of their skills both within an elective and emergency setting.
