This appointment is for a Consultant Medical Oncologist with an interest in Urological cancers and Germ Cell tumours based at University Hospital Southampton. You will join the Medical Oncology consultant team, specifically:o To provide specialist Medical Oncology input with expertise in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy for these groups of patients.o To treat patients with Urological and Germ cell tumours at UHS.o To provide oncology input to the UHS Urology MDT and Germ cell MDT. Person specification

Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
GMC registration with a licence to practise
Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
Evidence and ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams
Understanding of equality and diversity and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English).
Demonstrate good organisational skills including ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
Demonstrate the ability to be calm, compassionate, and able to respond efficiently to various circumstances, which may change rapidly
Evidence of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching

Desirable

Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Medical Oncology or be within 6 months of award of CCT by date of interview. Non-UK trained applicants should be on the Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of interview date
Urology and Germ Cell Tumour experience
Evidence of involvement in clinical research and publication in peer-reviewed journals
Postgraduate degree (eg an MD, PhD or equivalent)
Evidence of management skills and Service Development
