About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Midlands GP School for established Training Programme Directors (TPDs) to contribute to a total of 22 sessions across the West Midlands. The positions would be most suited to established TPDs, however in exceptional circumstances, applications from suitably experienced candidates will also be considered but the applicants would need to demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to Structured Learning. This will need to be evidenced in the application in order to be shortlisted. The role involves working collaboratively with the wider GP School and local programme education teams to support GP Registrars to reach their full potential, progress successfully to MRCGP, and develop as adaptable GPs equipped for the future NHS. Core responsibilities include enhancing the training experience for GP Registrars through: Preparation and delivery of educational sessionsEducational facilitation and curriculum supportPastoral and individual learner support
Supporting educational development across the GP School, particularly through the Structured Learning Programme, and where appropriate, health inequalities training, neurodiversity initiatives, iTAP, and Trainers' CoursesFacilitating induction for GP Registrars, including enhanced support for international medical graduates and those new to the NHSWorking closely with GP practices and education providers to ensure high-quality, balanced training placementsOrganising and delivering face-to-face and virtual educational programmesProviding timely educational and pastoral support to learners and educatorsEnsuring appropriate assessment processes are in place, including effective ARCP deliveryCollaborating with senior educators, Training Hubs, Trusts, and partner organisations across the region
