About the role
The main purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive training and developexpertise in all areas of complex inflammatory bowel disease. This post is bestsuited to a candidate aspiring to a sub-speciality career in IBD.
The postholder will be joining one of the largest IBD units in the UK alongside a diverse team of specialists, including dietitians, clinical nurse specialists, GIsurgeons, and mental health professionals, to provide cutting edge, evidencebased, patient-centred care to over 6500 patients.
This unique opportunity will provide training in complex IBD including perianal
Crohn's, treatment refractory disease, pregnancy, adolescent (13+), peri-operativemanagement and IBD endoscopy including surveillance, pouch assessment andileoscopy.
The postholder will contribute to high-quality clinical research and the developmentof guidelines that change care across London.
The post holder is expected to have broad experience of general gastroenterology disorders including independent gastroscopy and ideally diagnostic colonic. The applicant should demonstrate an clear interest in IBD. The post holder will deliver both specialist IBD and general gastroenterology clinics, relevant diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures The postholder will be expected to attend the weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, departmental clinical governance meetings, journal club and teaching. The post holder will also be expected to participate in the audit.
