About the role
This is a whole-time fixed term post of 2 years with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The appointee will provide intermediate grade support to the neuromuscular consultant neurologist and the team appropriate to their level of experience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a special interest in neuromuscular disorders.
The appointee would be expected to play a full part in the clinical, research and teaching of the neuromuscular team and the governance activities of the directorate.
A medical degree or a diploma from a recognised UK or overseas university or institution or equivalent is essential and candidates must have clinical training and experience near or equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Neurology. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The post is at the level of a speciality registrar (ST6 +) or post CCT level.
