About the role
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust provides maternity and neonatal services across its two main acute sites: Scunthorpe General Hospital (SGH) and the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital (DPOW), Grimsby. Together, the Trust supports a combined birth activity of approximately 4,800 births per year, comprising around 2,100 births at SGH and 2,700 births at DPOW. Both hospitals provide 24/7 maternity and obstetric services. The Paediatric Cardiology Service is hosted on both Scunthorpe and Grimsby and comprises of 2 consultants with special interest, one on both sites, along with a cardiology specialist nurse who covers the service cross site. . We are part of an established cardiac network which runs regular educational meetings within the region biannually. We use Phillips Affinity 70 Echocardiogram machine for use in outpatients and on the neonatal unit. Images can be viewed on PACS( XERO) and web v, images can be transferred to tertiary cardiology (Leeds) out of hours. Both LNUs are part of the Yorkshire & Humber Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (ODN), working collaboratively across the region to optimise perinatal care and neonatal pathways.
As a senior employee of the Trust the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's Patients. Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements: - To ensure the provision of a high standard clinical service. To provide effective leadership to the junior doctors and medical students To undertake all work in accordance to the Trust's procedures and operating policies To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's operational group service plans.
