An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Specialty Doctor to join the Mental Health Services on the Isle of Wight. This is a substantive post within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, person-centred mental health care to community and inpatient settings to working age and older age adults on the Isle of Wight. The successful applicant will hold responsibility for a varied clinical caseload and work closely with other health professionals, with Consultant support available. The role offers opportunities to contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement within a smaller, well-integrated service. Principal Duties of the Post This post involves working within both the inpatient and outpatient settings, across the whole range of mental health services within the Trust. This post involves working closely with a large multi-disciplinary team managing secondary care patients with mental illness. The post holder provides medical support to the mental health team working under the supervision of a senior psychiatrist. Practitioners should be prepared to perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances without additional remuneration but may be granted time off in lieu at the discretion of the Trust. Commitments arising in such circumstances are, however, exceptional and practitioners should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
