Consultant in Emergency Medicine

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (ULTH) are looking for 2 substantive Consultant in the Accident and Emergency Department at Pilgrim Hospital Boston and Lincoln County Hospital. There is no better time to join our Trust as we have now been awarded Teaching Hospital Status. We are currently recruiting for substantive consultant post in Pilgrim Hospital Boston in our Emergency Medicine at United Lincolnshire Hospitals. We are looking for consultants to provide the highest quality of care to each individual patient who attends the department. The appointee will be required to work in a 1:15 on call rota with a 1:5 weekend frequency. The job plan will be aligned to a 85% DCC and 15% SPA split. Please note the job description has not been Royal College approved. AAC panel interviews are being held on the 20th July 2026.

The Appointee will be expected, in conjunction with his / her colleagues, to provide a comprehensive clinical, supervisory, educational and training support to the Emergency Department. This is a substantive full time Consultant post in our Emergency Medicine department for the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (ULTH). The purpose of this post is to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient who attends the department. The on call supplement is currently category A and is classed as high frequency with an on call availability supplement of 8% currently payable. If the person appointed elects to undertake a part time contract, he / she will be required to devote substantially the whole of his / her professional time to the duties of the post and to give them priority at all times. Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
