About the role
The post-holder will provide a comprehensive oesophagogastric, bariatric and general surgery practice. There will be opportunities to contribute to diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, and for the appropriate candidate, to contribute to the oesophagogastric cancer service.
The post-holder will provide a comprehensive oesophagogastric, bariatric and general surgery practice. There will be opportunities to contribute to diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, and for the appropriate candidate, to contribute to the oesophagogastric cancer service.The successful applicant should hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
Applicants should have established skills in general surgery, diagnostic endoscopy, complex hiatal surgery and bariatric surgery. Competence in oesophagogastric cancer surgery is desirable, and additional support will be available to the appropriate candidate as required. Excellent communication and team working skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.
