About the role
The Patch Associate GP Dean will assist and work with the Primary Care Dean and the Heads of School for General Practice to ensure the delivery of safe and compassionate care to patients through the delivery of high-quality GP specialty training. The postholder will have local responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and management of postgraduate general practice training activities within the BNSSG GP training programme geographical footprint. The role may expand in the future and may also involve some wider regional work. This role is for 5 PA / 20 hours per week, and will involve overseeing placement and recruitment issues, developing wider placements and capacity to support GP expansion. This role will also include an additional portfolio responsibility for the SW liaising with foundation school/programme. The AD role includes formulating strategy, managing and overseeing local education budgets and leadership activities within the School of Primary Care as well as line management of TPDs. This role will also include important work with our Educational and Clinical Supervisors to support and help them provide good quality supervision and education for trainees. In addition, the postholder will have responsibilities with respect to the wider primary care workforce, supporting the development of the Primary Care workforce in BNSSG .
