About the role
We are a dynamic team based at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust and are keen to expand our consultant body on theYork site with another enthusiastic colleague. This prospectus should hopefully provide you greater insight about the fantastic team atYork and the benefits of living and working in the historic city of York. The post is for an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Foot and Ankle. The current working model includes a 1 in 10 rota covering a trauma intake providing an in-reach and referral service to otherSurgical Wards and the Emergency department. There is dedicated daily trauma list capacity for the prompt management of trauma tocomplement a 24/7 rota, supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary orthopaedic team. Job plans will be reviewed at least annually, following an appraisal meeting. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a consultant's typical working pattern, duties and responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It will cover all aspects of a consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities and external commitments.
