About the role
There has never been a more exciting time to join Devon Partnership NHS Trust, an organisation committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of people across Devon and beyond.
As one of the leading providers of mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services in the Southwest, the Trust is focused on delivering high-quality, safe and recovery-focused care. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Safety and Delivery will provide senior medical leadership across our quality and patient safety agenda, helping to strengthen clinical governance, translate learning from incidents, mortality reviews and clinical audit into meaningful improvement, and ensure that safe, effective care is delivered consistently across our services.
Working collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Executive, clinical and operational leaders and partners, this is an opportunity to combine strategic leadership with a strong focus on delivery. You will help provide assurance on quality and safety, champion learning and continuous improvement, and support services to turn evidence, insight and learning into practical changes that improve outcomes and experience. This is a pivotal role for an experienced medical leader who wants to shape safer, more effective services and make a meaningful difference for patients, carers and communities across Devon. External applicants are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be appointed to a substantive Consultant post, with the Deputy CMO responsibilities offered on a fixed two-year tenure.
