Consultant in Infection

An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Infection (Microbiology or Microbiology/Infectious Diseases).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Microbiology Department in the largest Trust in the country.

The Department is involved in a Trust wide project to create a cohesive infection service across all the hospitals within the Trust, in what is one of the largest infection departments in the UK. This will incorporate colleagues in microbiology, virology, infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, respiratory medicine, genitourinary medicine and infection prevention.

We are recruiting for a Consultant Microbiologist to join our team and be a driving force in further developing our infection service. This post would be well suited to patient facing clinicians looking to develop specialist interests in the many areas available. From an infection perspective the opportunities to develop on existing links are considerable.

The post would suit candidates with either Medical Microbiology or dual Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases accreditation (or expected to be CCT accredited within 6 months), to work within the Department of Microbiology at MFT.
