Locum Consultant Spinal Surgeon- Adult Trauma and Paediatric Deformity

Full-time Consultant Spinal Surgeon with a responsibility in adult spines and paediatric spinal deformity for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will deliver expert clinical and surgical care to children with spinal pathology, managing long-term conditions such as Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). They will lead inpatient and outpatient services, and provide specialist advice to our patients and partners across Nottinghamshire as well as our allied hospitals across the East Midlands . The role also involves teaching and supervising junior staff, contributing to clinical governance, audit, and research, and working closely within a multidisciplinary team to drive service development. We are looking for a consultant with advanced (Fellowship-trained) clinical skills in the management of trauma, spinal oncology, as well as a strong foundation in the management of degenerative conditions and paediatric spinal deformity. This role will initially mostly cover paediatrics. At time of appointment, clinic and operating sessions will be children's only, with opportunity to integrate with the wider surgical and multidisciplinary team at MDT sessions. On-call duties support both paediatric and adult patients. This will be reviewed and remaining within a 10PA job plan, the role is expected to be split further between adult and paediatric services as the service demands change.
