About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Salaried GP to join our team at The Dove Medical Practice for 6 sessions per week. We offer a flexible working pattern across the week. We would be particularly interested in candidates with additional interests or experience in Minor Surgery and/or Joint Injections, although this is not essential. The ideal candidate will be available to commence employment in August/September 2026, although an earlier start date would be welcomed where possible.
Our GP clinical sessions are 4 hours and 10 minutes in duration. Face-to-face appointments are scheduled at 15-minute intervals, with telephone consultations allocated 10 minutes. Clinics consist of a mixture of face-to-face and telephone appointments, alongside one allocated home visit slot per session. Protected administration time is built into each session to support completion of blood results, repeat prescriptions, correspondence and other clinical duties. All GPs are expected to participate in the practice Duty GP rota on a shared basis. The Duty GP is responsible for the clinical triage of same-day patient requests and urgent appointment allocation into the practice.
The Dove Medical Practice is a high-performing GP practice based in Erdington, Birmingham, caring for approximately 9,200 patients. We are a well-established training and teaching practice with a strong focus on innovation, patient care and staff wellbeing. Our clinical team consists of experienced GP Partners, Salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, Paramedics and a highly supportive administrative and reception team. We work collaboratively and pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly, approachable and inclusive culture where all staff are valued and supported. As a practice, we actively encourage clinicians to develop specialist interests and contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice. The practice is part of KEN PCN and works closely with neighbouring practices and multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for our local population.
