Salaried GP (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for apart-time Salaried GP (6 sessions) to support our Chislehurst community on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. We are seeking a compassionate, committed, and experienced GP to provide high-quality care and continuity for our patients during a period of maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team, making a meaningful contribution to the health and wellbeing of our local community while maintaining the high standards of care our patients have come to expect. This fixed term contract will run from Tuesday 22nd Sept until (and including) Friday 6th August 2027. The role is for 6 sessions per week, split across 3 full working days. Due to room availability, the confirmed working days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are open to discussing the opportunity with candidates who may be able to cover part of this commitment rather than all 6 sessions. The successful candidate will be expected to work across both practice sites.

The suitable candidate should feel comfortable working independently as well as alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team. The role will include pro-rata involvement with the duty doctor triage rota working alongside another duty doctor at the opposite practice site. We expect our team to always act within your professional boundaries, providing appropriate care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviour by promoting and protecting the interests of service users and carers, communicating appropriately and effectively, working within the limits of your knowledge and skills, refer & delegate appropriately, respect confidentiality, manage risk, report concerns about safety, be honest and trustworthy and keep records of your work.
