MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
MRCP or equivalent
Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
CCT/CESR in Acute Internal Medicine
On GMC Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of interview date
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and commitment to revalidation
Broad experience in acute and general internal medicine
Competent in the assessment and management of acutely unwell adult medical patients
Experience of consultant-led ward rounds and multi-disciplinary working
Experience in performing clinical procedures relevant to acute medicine
Knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement
Excellent communication, liaison, and negotiation skills
Ability to lead and manage a clinical team, motivating, supporting, and developing staff across professional groups
Ability to advise on efficient and effective delivery of acute medicine services
Understanding of NHS management principles and the operational delivery of acute services

Ability to deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate learners
