About the role
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) was formed in 2017 following the merger of Central Manchester University NHS Foundation Trustand the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. With the inclusion of North Manchester General Hospital from 1stApril 2021, our organisation provides a single hospital service across the City of Manchester. THE POST We are seeking to appoint a committed Consultant Histopathologist to join our experienced and highly motivated team at the Adult Histopathology department in Oxford Road campus, although there may be a requirement to work across our other sites. It is intended that this post will join the Head and Neck reporting team. Contribution to other subspeciality will be discussed with the successful appointee based on expertise and service requirements. About the specialty: The Head and Neck Pathology team currently comprises four specialist head and neck pathologists and is one of the largest head and neck pathology units in the country, reporting specimens from five different hospitals including University Dental Hospital of Manchester as well as a large Head and Neck cancer unit. Experience of reporting the full range of head and neck pathology is desirable including composite resections for head and neck cancer, dental and odontogenic pathology as well as thyroid and head and neck skin pathology. Further training will be provided for candidates willing to develop expertise in any of these areas.
