About the role
Applications are invited to apply for a fixed term 12-month, part-time 0.6 WTE consultant post in orthodontics at King's College Dental Institute, Denmark Hill and Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup sites which are part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post has arisen due to the retirement and dropped sessions of some consultants and offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a large, experienced, and supportive team of 14 consultants across both sites. The service provides specialist hospital-based orthodontic care, managing approximately 2,700 new referrals and 15,000 outpatient attendances each year. The King's orthodontic service is recognised for its strong multidisciplinary approach, with dedicated orthognathic, hypodontia, orthodontic-restorative, paediatric-oral surgery, and sleep aponea joint clinics. The service is supported by good clinical, dental/OMFS laboratories, digital facilities and a dental nursing team on both sites. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care, in addition, to orthodontic teaching and training of King's College London undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, and HEE StR & Post CCST registrars as well. The successful candidate will be contributing to the ongoing service development within a collaborative and academically active environment.
