You'll manage your own caseload, working autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed, relationship-based care for children with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs. The post holder will provide highly specialist assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for children and young people with complex emotional and mental health needs within CAMHS. Working autonomously, they will manage a clinical caseload, provide consultation, supervision and specialist advice to colleagues and partner agencies, and contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making.

The role includes supporting carers through psychoeducation, promoting secure caregiver-child relationships, convening and influencing complex professional networks, and advocating for children and young people to achieve the best outcomes.

In addition to direct clinical work, the post holder will contribute to service development, quality improvement, education and training, supporting colleagues to develop specialist knowledge and skills. They will help shape innovative practice through clinical leadership, research, audit and the development of evidence-based approaches, ensuring services continue to meet the needs of children, young people and families in line with local and national priorities.

Person specification

Essential

Experience of workig with Looked after Children for at least 6 months
Holds a professional Registration in the UK
Experience of working with Children in a CAMHs setting
At least 2 years experience at band 7
Trained /qualified to offer at least 1 structured, NICE compliant, Evidence based interventions

Desirable

Experience of working at band 8a level
Experience of running carer groups.
