Junior Clinical Fellow in ENT (Education)

To assist within the speciality service of ENT to include paediatrics To enhance services within the ENT Service. To assist in team building across all Directorate services and teams. This post builds on an established programme since 2016 of undergraduate medical education, delivering a clinical ENT weekly teaching module within the C21 year 3 'Surgery & Oncology' block in the Princess of Wales Hospital (PoWH), as well as ENT lectures and clinical demonstrations to Foundation Trainees and allied healthcare professionals in the MPEC (Multi Professional Educational Centre) and across PoWH. The post holder will work closely with PoWH ENT trainee and consultant colleagues, planning and delivering the week-long ENT Programme clinical module (aligned to the C21 and ENTUK SFO core curriculums) to Year 3 students in rotation during their 8 weeks PoWH placement (x4 blocks per annum), mostly utilising small group (2 or 3 students) teaching with an enhanced system for student feedback and support. The medical school are also committed to the development and expansion of e-learning and facilities so the post holder will be expected to provide and demonstrate a range of clinical materials in order to enhance the taught core ENT module. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and expand the teaching of clinical ENT in PoWH to Cardiff undergraduate medical students, under the supervision of Mr Steven Backhouse and the other PoWH ENT Consultants.
