The post-holder shall be expected to deliver emergency general surgery and elective coloproctology.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a service which is at the forefront of providing a modern colorectal and emergency surgery service. Nottingham Colorectal Service has one of the busiest emergency and colorectal cancer workloads in the UK. It is also a major tertiary referral center for the wider East Midlands.
We have established services in advanced laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, intestinal failure and inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal wall reconstruction, anal cancer, pelvic floor surgery, TEO/TEMS, locally advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer and an active academic department (University of Nottingham)

The Job Plan is annualised to 10 PA's. This means that the individual appointed will be expected to deliver 8 sessions of DCC per week.The post-holder will have regular elective day case operating sessions, outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists and inpatient operating lists. They will be across all of our sites (Queens Medical Centre, City Hospital and Treatment Centre). These will sit within the Colorectal Surgery specialty, overseen by the Head of Colorectal. Some of these commitments will be out of work-day hours e.g. evenings and weekends.
