About the role

Abbey Medical Centre, an OUTSTANDING CQC-rated training practice in St Johns Wood, is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team for 4-6 sessions per week. As a General Practitioner, you will deliver comprehensive primary care consultations through multiple modalities (face-to-face, video, telephone), manage acute and chronic conditions, and conduct home visits when necessary. You will also oversee chronic disease management and maintain high standards in patient care. The role includes mentorship of junior staff, involvement in clinical teaching, and opportunities to lead quality improvement initiatives. Administrative excellence and adherence to clinical governance frameworks are vital to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Person specification

Essential

* Proven experience working in NHS General Practice.
* Experience managing acute and chronic medical conditions across a diverse patient population.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality consultations via face-to-face, telephone, and video appointments.
* Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge and experience in chronic disease management programs, including diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
* Experience managing emergency and urgent care presentations in primary care settings.
* Familiarity with maintaining accurate and detailed medical records in line with professional standards.
* Experience in managing clinical correspondence, referrals, and ensuring continuity of care for patients.
* Evidence of participation in clinical governance activities such as audits, quality improvement projects, or safeguarding.
Full GMC registration with a license to practice and inclusion on the GP Register.
Completion of GP specialty training (CCT or equivalent).
* Experience of working in NHS General Practice.
* Excellent clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.
* A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development and revalidation compliance.

Desirable

* Experience in performing minor surgical procedures in a primary care setting.
* Previous involvement in supervising or mentoring junior doctors, medical students, or allied healthcare professionals.
* Experience in designing or delivering educational sessions or CPD activities.
* Experience working in a leadership capacity or taking responsibility for service development.
* Familiarity with EMIS.
* Experience working with vulnerable or marginalized patient groups.
* Involvement in local or regional clinical networks, contributing to primary care innovation or community health projects.
* Previous experience developing or delivering a special interest clinic, such as dermatology, womens health, or musculoskeletal services
