About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SHARP Anaesthetics Senior Clinical Fellow in Environmental Sustainability. This post is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and engaged fellow with an interest in environmentally sustainable anaesthesia to join our team for a 12-month fellowship. You will have the opportunity to widen your knowledge and skills in environmentally sustainable healthcare. You will receive mentoring and guidance to enable you to focus on projects and learning opportunities that grow your leadership skills in readiness for a consultant or specialist post in the future. Full details are found in the JD/PS It is expected that you will cover full on call duties with normal daytime work prioritised to your fellowship opportunities. Resident on-call duties are on a 1:8 rota with prospective cover and will cover either general or obstetric anaesthesia services, or ICU. These hours are 08:00-18:00, 08:00-20:30 and 20:00-08:30. There are three tiers of resident anaesthetic and intensive care cover within the hospital who work as a team to provide out of hour cover with non-resident consultant support.

Essential

MBChB / MBBS
Full GMC Registration and Licence to practice
Primary FRCA (or equivalent)
3 years anaesthesia experience
Evidence of IAC / Theatre on calls
Evidence of IACOA / Obs on calls
Evidence of Core Competences in ICM / ICM on calls
ALS Provider
Commitment to anaesthesia
Widespread knowledge in all aspects of general medicine and surgery
Demonstrate passion to improve environmental impact of healthcare
Good understanding of climate change and its impact on human health
Demonstrates reflective evidence based practice
Evidence of clinical audit and governance practice
Fluency in English with excellent communicaton skills
Excellent oral and written communication
Personal drive for development and growth
Demonstrates an excellent work ethic
Evidence of ability to work in MDT, lead and make decisions
Demonstrates good time management skills
Demonstrates leadership ability
Evidence of involvement in management commensurate with experience
Understands, respects and demonstrates values of the NHS

Desirable

Final FRCA
18 months paid NHS experience
Other medical experience
