The main duties of the role rotate between 'hot week' and 'cold week' operated on a 1:10 cycle, alongside other job planned clinical and non-clinical activities. Hot week will run Monday to Friday 08.30hrs - 18.00hrs with main duties to include: Supervise the day-to-day management of labour ward. Ward rounds in Labour , Maternity and Gynaecology wards including acute and elective cases Perform or supervise emergency gynaecological cases on the CEPOD lists. The main duties of Cold week will include: To undertake three elective caesarean section lists per week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday Complete electronic advice and guidance from GPs, triaging referrals and reviewing and actioning of urgent results to prevent delays in cancer pathways. During the other seven weeks, you are required to perform approximately 4 - 5 PA clinical activities. These sessions may include: General Antenatal Clinic Gynaecology Clinic Theatre Any Specialised clinic of interest There is also a 1:10 weekday on-call commitment and 1:10 weekend on-call commitment. The successful applicant will have 1.5 Core SPA (Supporting Programmed Activities) job planned for CPD, revalidation, appraisal and departmental meetings. The Clinical Director will confirm the job plan with the successful candidate, and all Consultants are supported to take part in an Annual Appraisal.
