Main Duties This is a non-training post The Orthopaedic Clinical Fellows, Specialty Trainees and FoundationTrainees are responsible for the day-to-day running of orthopaedicbeds situated mainly in ward 6 (trauma) ward 22(elective) ward 10B (paeds) and for any other orthopaedic patients withinthe hospital. There is no formal accident and emergency commitment other than toassess and manage patients with orthopaedic problems during the oncall shift (day or night 12 hour shift). Clinical duties can include attending orthopaedic and fractureoutpatient clinics, assisting in operating sessions and in consultant andassociate specialist ward rounds, which are often informal teachingsessions. Although the Clinical Fellow posts are not recognised for training, theposts mirror the specialty trainees in all aspects of training, educationand study leave.
