Consultant Clinical Practitioner Experts at Hand

The Consultant Clinical Practitioner (CCP) is a key corporate leadership role. Working alongside the Clinical Director, Operational Director, Head of Quality and Professional Leads, the post holder will provide visible and inspirational leadership, connecting patients, staff and partners with the vision and values of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOW). The CCP will act as the strategic clinical lead for the development, mobilisation and implementation of the jointly commissioned Experts at Hand Service across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The service supports delivery of the Government's SEND reforms outlined in the Schools White Paper, Every Child Achieving and Thriving (DfE, 2026), and will operate through joint health and education commissioning, delivery and accountability arrangements. The service will support school-aged children across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System. The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership for a system-wide workforce, enabling the delivery of high-quality universal, targeted and targeted-plus support within education settings. They will lead the mapping and integration of local pathways, support the development of communication public health strategies, and ensure consistent, evidence-based practice is established across the system. Given the scale and complexity of implementation, the role requires senior strategic leadership and advanced clinical expertise.
