About the role
This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Locum Consultant in Infectious Diseases, or Infectious Diseases with Microbiology, Tropical Medicine, General (Internal) Medicine or equivalent. This post will be available from September 2026 for a period of 12 months. The successful applicant should hold accreditation in Infectious Diseases in the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
This post will deliver 8.5 PAs of direct clinical care, supporting the Infectious Diseases inpatient and outpatient medicine team and a further 1.5 PAs supporting professional activity. There will be opportunities to contribute to teaching, research and innovation. If the appointed candidate is accredited in Microbiology, this will be a joint post with microbiology, with contribution to the duty rota, ICU ward rounds and specialist MDT.
The post will be based at St. James University Hospital, Leeds.
