About the role
This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff. It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience. We are looking for interest in the vacancy which will start in January 2027 and must end in October 2027
This is a maternity cover post, bringing the complement of SpR equivalents within the Department of Orthopaedics to twelve. There are seven specialist registrars who are part of the South East London Orthopaedic Training Programme, 5 trust grade registrars. The post holder is expected to supervise the work of the JCFs and FY1s and undertake regular ward rounds during the week along with the rest of the team. The general duties of the post include clinics (elective and fracture) and theatre lists (elective and trauma). There is a big emphasis on audit, research and teaching with numerous educational opportunities present in the department regularly. Participation in all these activities is encouraged and supported.
