About the role
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The core responsibilities of a salaried GP include: Providing effective medical care to the assigned population. Delivering services in line with the GMS contract. Following local and national guidelines for prescribing. Managing long-term health conditions effectively. Timely processing of administrative tasks, including referrals and prescriptions. Participating in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotation basis. Maintaining accurate clinical records according to best practices. Engaging in research and clinical trials. Collaborating equally in practice workload. Adhering to clinical guidelines and quality audits. Contributing to continuous improvement and quality initiatives. Accepting responsibility for specific areas, including the QOF. Actively participating in practice meetings. Supporting clinical governance, training, financial, and HR management. Ensuring compliance with appraisals and revalidation processes. Promoting self-learning and professional development. Assisting in training medical students. Aiding partners in achieving strategic goals and improving financial performance. Reviewing and adhering to practice protocols and policies. Encouraging collaboration among staff. Additionally, they may be requested to engage in practice audits, local service initiatives, review significant events using root cause analysis, comply with practice guidelines, and attend relevant training events.
