EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly dedicated NHS Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join and lead on the Ruby Ward based at theThe Crystal Centre, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 7LF. This is a full-time NHS Locum Consultant post within the Older Adult Functional Inpatient Mental Health Service, based at Ruby Ward at The Crystal Centre, Broomfield Hospital. Ruby Ward is a 17-bed functional older adult unit serving Chelmsford, Maldon and Braintree. The ward provides assessment and treatment for older adults, typically aged 70 and over, or for adults with significant frailty requiring inpatient care for functional mental illness.
The post holder will have responsibility for the clinical care of those patients admitted to the in-patient unit on the ward. The post holder will also be expected to work closely with the team and the ward manager to ensure the provision of an effective service. The trust is actively supportive of newly qualified consultants continuing professional development seeking to deepen and broaden their skills. We have excellent links with the medical school at ARU and other educational establishments where we have shared appointments in teaching and research. You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
